Sharing with VTC News, Huong My Bong said that the reason for creating Say mot doi vi em was very coincidental. In June 2025, she started using TikTok. While surfing this social network, she accidentally heard a piece of music posted by Ken Quach.
“That melody immediately touched my soul, evoking emotions that had been suppressed for a long time. I immediately texted Ken, suggesting that we write a song together that reflected my mood. Ken agreed immediately, very sincerely. That was the moment we began the journey of composing this song,” she recalled.
Although they lived at opposite ends of the country, Huong My Bong in Hanoi and Ken Quach in Ho Chi Minh City, they both stayed up many nights to complete the song. Huong My Bong was in charge of the main lyrics, sending drafts to Ken for editing and comments. Regarding the melody, the two discussed thoroughly, even arguing to find special details. Ken suggested opening with the sound of a saxophone - a nostalgic sound, and she agreed immediately because she felt it was a unique highlight.
“We are all from the 8X generation so it is easy to find sympathy, both nostalgic and modern. We even added rap to get closer to the young audience,” said Huong My Bong.
Meanwhile, the AI technical part is completely handled by Ken. However, for the female author, AI is just a supporting tool, the soul still has to be put in by humans. With this song, artificial intelligence accounts for about 10%, the rest is the emotions, thoughts and creativity of both.

When Say mot doi vi em became a phenomenon, Huong My Bong admitted that she was not too surprised. As soon as it was completed, she told Ken Quach that this song would definitely be famous.
