This is an important step for HDBank in the international capital market, following the successful issuance of VND3,000 billion of domestic green bonds at the end of 2024.
HDBank successfully issued 50 million USD in international green bonds. |
This issuance includes 50,000 bonds, with a total face value of 50 million USD (Phase 1) with a term of 3 years, within HDBank's International Green Bond Program, including two separate issuances with a total value of 100 million USD.
The bonds are non-convertible, unwarranted and unsecured. Saigon Securities Inc. (SSI) is the consultancy unit for the dossier. Capital from international green bonds helps HDBank diversify its financial resources, improve risk management capacity, and expand its ability to participate in renewable energy projects, green buildings, electric vehicles and energy-saving solutions.
Funds from this issuance to IFC can support at least 50 clients to implement green projects, contributing to reducing about 100,500 tons of CO₂ per year, making a positive contribution to Vietnam's Net Zero 2050 target.
Previously, IFC supported HDBank to develop and issue a Sustainable Finance Framework according to international standards on sustainable finance by the end of 2024, paving the way for the bank's green and sustainable bond issuance activities.
With this successful issuance of international green bonds, HDBank continues to affirm its reputation in the international capital market, while consolidating its pioneering position in combining business growth, sustainable governance and community development.
