On the morning of October 1, the People's Committee of Hai Phong City held a ceremony to announce the opening of the Con Son - Kiep Bac autumn festival in 2025, at Kiep Bac Temple, Tran Hung Dao ward.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Minh Hung - Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee, Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai - Director of Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and representatives of organizing committee members, local authorities and people.
The annual Con Son - Kiep Bac Festival is held in the fall, people make a pilgrimage to Kiep Bac Temple to commemorate and show gratitude for the merits of Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan. Before the festival opens, the organizing committee will hold a ceremony to prepare for the opening, then organize cultural, sports and tourism activities for people and visitors.
Hai Phong City leaders held a ceremony to announce and open a series of activities for the organizing committee of the Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival 2025.
In addition, the traditional Cao Nieu ceremony is also an occasion for people to pray for national peace, favorable weather, and bountiful harvests. This is one of the important rituals, opening the autumn festival in Con Son - Kiep Bac, imbued with the culture and beliefs of the local people.
Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival is one of the first unique and typical traditional cultural events of Hai Phong City after the merger.
The 2025 festival will not only be a solemn cultural and spiritual event commemorating the merits of our ancestors, but will also be raised in scale. At the festival, there will be a ceremony to honor the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son - Kiep Bac Monument and Landscape Complex recognized by UNESCO as an inter-provincial World Cultural Heritage. Of which, Hai Phong has 5 out of 12 relics and landscapes in the complex.
The festival will take place from October 1-12 (August 10-20 of the lunar calendar), associated with the 725th death anniversary of King Tran Quoc Tuan and the opening of the Con Son - Kiep Bac autumn festival.
Many outstanding activities will take place during the festival season. Typical are the Kiep Bac Temple Seal Opening Ceremony, the Military Festival on Luc Dau River with 50 participating boats, the Peace and Lantern Festival, the Procession and Commemoration of the 583rd death anniversary of the national hero, World Cultural Celebrity Nguyen Trai.
Thousands of people come to Kiep Bac temple during the festival.
In addition, Hai Phong City will organize a special exhibition on World Heritage Journey, a week of culture, tourism and trade promotion gathering hundreds of OCOP products, traditional craft villages and unique local cuisine.
The city also launched three new tourism products, experiencing the world cultural heritage values that have just been honored by UNESCO.
In addition, Hai Phong City also organizes a series of unique cultural and artistic activities with live stage performances, applying modern sound and lighting technology, 3D mapping projection and craft village space with performances by artisans... for people and tourists to experience.
