U.17 Vietnam has home field advantage
On October 13 at Binh Duong Stadium (HCMC), Group D of the 2026 Asian U.17 Women's Qualifiers will officially kick off with the participation of 3 teams: Vietnam U.17 Women's, Hong Kong U.17 Women's and Guam U.17 Women's. Speaking at a press conference held at noon on October 12, coach Okiyama Masahiko of Vietnam U.17 Women's said that he was satisfied with the recent preparation plan when the players had the opportunity to approach the world-class football of Germany: "Vietnam U17 Women's had a good opportunity to approach the world-class football of Germany, through which the players learned many useful things".
In the opening match of Group D - the qualifying round of the Asian U17 Women's Football Championship, Vietnam U17 Women will face Guam U17 Women at 4 p.m. on October 13 at Go Dau Stadium. After that, Vietnam U17 Women will face Hong Kong U17 Women on October 17.

The Japanese coach said he did not have much information about the opponent in the first match, the Guam U17 women's team: "The coaching staff does not have much information about the opponent, but we will analyze the opponent while playing to make appropriate adjustments. The Vietnam U17 women's team will try our best in each match." Coach Okiyama Masahiko also hopes that the audience will come to the stadium to cheer for the Vietnam U17 women's players. "We hope the audience will come to the stadium to support the young players. The Vietnam U17 women's team will try to show beautiful play and dedicate good matches to the audience," said Mr. Okiyama Masahiko.
Present at the press conference, player Tran Thi An also said: "The U.17 women's team of Vietnam has made many improvements in recent times and will try their best to get the best results."
Guam U.17 women's coach Chyna Ramirez said this is a good opportunity for them to show off: "This qualifying round is a good opportunity for Guam to show off and build Guam's young women's football. The weather here is quite favorable so it does not affect the Guam players."
Evaluating the U.17 women's team of Vietnam, the captain of the U.17 women's team of Guam said: "We know the success of the Vietnamese teams through the tournaments they participated in. Guam is ready to compete against strong opponents. Of course, a reasonable strategy is what we are considering," said Ms. Chyna Ramirez.
Hong Kong U.17 women's coach Chan Shuk Chi shared that her team had made thorough preparations: "Before coming to Vietnam, we had a short training trip in Thailand to get used to weather conditions similar to those in Vietnam. Therefore, our players are in the best condition."
Because no unit in Vietnam bought the television copyright, the matches of U.17 Vietnam and other matches of the U.17 Asian qualifiers were not broadcast.
