An Giang and Kampot agree to increase border trade

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho said that in recent times, with the attention, leadership and direction of the two sides' authorities, and the active coordination of sectors and levels, the two provinces have achieved many practical results in maintaining border security and order; promoting economic, cultural and social cooperation; expanding foreign relations and people-to-people exchanges.

In the first 10 months of 2025, the total import-export turnover through border gates between An Giang province and Kampot province is estimated to reach over 7 million USD. This is a very positive result, demonstrating the close and effective cooperation between the two provinces in facilitating the transport of goods through border gates, thereby promoting the growth of the border trade economy, contributing to improving the lives of border residents...

At the conference, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho and Mr. Khiev Rithiphorn, Deputy Governor of Kampot Province signed the minutes on exchanging, agreeing and implementing the Vietnam - Cambodia Border Trade Agreement between An Giang and Kampot provinces.

The two sides agreed: An Giang province allows and facilitates the exit and entry of Cambodian means of transport temporarily imported and re-exported at An Giang province's border gates to deliver and receive goods within the border gate area of An Giang province and return to Cambodia on the same day.

Kampot province allows and facilitates the exit and entry of Vietnamese means of transport temporarily imported and re-exported at Kampot province's border gates to deliver and receive goods within the border gate area of Kampot province and return to Vietnam on the same day.

Facilitating the exit and entry of vehicles into border gate areas must ensure compliance with the laws on border trade activities of each country...
