At around 3:00 p.m. today (October 7), due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, the house of Mr. Ly Seo Chu's family in Seo Khai Hoa village had its wall collapsed, no longer usable, with initial estimated damage of about 100 million VND.
Immediately after receiving the information, more than 30 commune officials, police, border guards and local people were present to promptly assist in evacuating people and property to a safe place; using wooden props to prevent collapses affecting surrounding households, and at the same time arranging temporary accommodation for the household.

Through screening, Si Ma Cai commune recorded 57 landslide-prone areas, affecting 483 households and 4 flood-prone areas. In the face of complicated weather developments, the same morning, the commune leaders directly inspected areas at high risk of landslides, assessed the situation and level of impact, developed response plans and disseminated information to people and schools to proactively monitor weather developments and promptly move to safe places to ensure health and property. At the same time, the commune directed specialized departments and villages to strengthen screening, closely monitor the area, be ready to evacuate people when situations arise, and maintain 24/7 on-duty.
