Buying abortion pills online, 27 year old girl suffered uterine rupture

After searching for information online, a 27-week pregnant woman in Hanoi bought abortion pills and treated herself at home. After experiencing severe abdominal pain, she was taken to the Hanoi Obstetrics Hospital for emergency treatment that same night.

According to Hanoi Obstetrics Hospital, on the evening of October 9, the hospital received a pregnant woman in critical condition for emergency treatment.

The female patient was born in 1998, in Tay Ho, Hanoi. Before that, the girl did not know she was pregnant, only felt her belly was big, went to the doctor and found out she was 27 weeks pregnant. The girl looked up information online and bought abortion pills to handle at home.

After taking the medicine, the girl had severe abdominal pain and went to a lower-level hospital for examination, then was urgently transferred to Hanoi Obstetrics Hospital at night, without any relatives accompanying her.

Immediately, the patient underwent emergency surgery. Thanks to the urgent coordination of the surgical team, the patient has overcome the critical stage and is currently being closely monitored, with his health gradually stabilizing.
