The song "Youth in Me" composed by musician Mai Tram won first prize in the songwriting contest for Tuoi Tre newspaper on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the newspaper's founding.

Musician Mai Tram shared that she was very surprised and moved when her song won first prize in the call for songwriting for Tuoi Tre newspaper.

"I wrote this song with sincerity, as a small gift for Tuoi Tre newspaper on the occasion of its 50th anniversary. The song was well received and sympathized with, that is the greatest reward for a composer like me," musician Mai Tram shared.

After nearly a year of launching, the organizing committee invited a number of musicians to compose songs about Tuoi Tre newspaper and received 12 songs from 10 musicians who love and have a lot of affection for the newspaper.

They are musician Le Vinh Phuc (song Tuoi Tre - Pen of the heart , Love of Tuoi Tre newspaper ), Nguyen Quoc Viet ( Proud of 50 years of Tuoi Tre newspaper ), Ha Chuong ( Red - Young - Saigon ), Quynh Le ( Song of Youth ), Nguyen Phi Hung ( Song of Youth , Enthusiasm of Youth ), To Hieu (Youth firmly steps forward ), Mai Tram ( Youth in me ), Nguyen Ba Hung ( Our Youth ), Pham Hong Bien ( My Youth ) and 9X teacher Thai Duong ( Song of Youth ).

Among them, the song Tuoi Tre trong toi by musician Mai Tram won first prize. She said that the inspiration for composing the song came from an early morning when she saw the city gradually waking up, she imagined the Tuoi Tre newspaper team starting a new day with enthusiasm and love for their job.

"I wanted to write a bright song, expressing a simple but profound happiness: being able to contribute every day, being part of the team that makes up that passionate newspaper" - Mai Tram added.

The Youth in Me has a youthful, gentle, energetic melody. The female musician skillfully combines bright vocals with modern rhythms, and adds a rap part to increase the freshness, close to the taste of today's youth.

"This is a pop song with a contemporary feel but still full of poetry, just like the way Tuoi Tre newspaper always balances information updates and humanistic values" - musician Mai Tram said about her first prize-winning work.

The appraisal council includes musician Nguyen Quang Vinh - president of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association, musician Nguyen Duc Trung - vice president of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association and musician Nguyen Van Hien - member of the executive committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association.

"I chose to tell very simple things: the joy of seeing the sunrise, the happiness of being able to contribute, or the companionship of Tuoi Tre as a friend. I avoided shouting slogans, instead using gentle, close lyrics. The rap is a modern highlight, helping the song add energy while still maintaining a profound spirit" - Mai Tram confided.

Another interesting thing is that Mai Tram also participated in the music editing of the program to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Tuoi Tre newspaper, which will take place on the morning of August 21 at White Palace, Duc Nhuan ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
