Many schools end enrollment early in 2024

Nationwide, more than 122,000 candidates passed the first round of admission but did not confirm their enrollment. Meanwhile, more than 100 universities are conducting additional admissions from September to the end of December, with 28,000 quotas.

In theory, universities' additional recruitment sources are still abundant, but in reality, many schools have to end enrollment early because they are worried about running out of resources.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry announced additional admission for Quang Ngai Branch with 205 quotas for 6 majors, according to 2 methods: considering the 2024 high school graduation exam scores (17 points) and considering the 12th grade transcripts (19 points). However, the school has only received less than 100 applications.

Ho Chi Minh City Open University is recruiting 6 additional majors with degrees granted by the university (150 positions) and 13 majors under international joint programs with degrees granted by partners. Up to now, the school has not yet recruited enough students.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance announced the recruitment of 600 additional students in all majors until September 15. However, at the end of the additional recruitment round, the number of applications submitted for admission did not reach 50% of the required recruitment target.

Nguyen Tat Thanh University is considering additional enrollment of about 1,500 students for 63 majors using three methods, but has only received about 1,000 applications. A school representative said that it is likely that it will not be able to meet the enrollment target and will have to end enrollment in 2024 because candidates are not interested in submitting applications.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training's enrollment regulations, schools will consider additional enrollment until December 31, 2024. However, according to representatives of many schools, enrollment will not be able to last until December 31 because there are no more enrollment sources.

Schools will end enrollment early to focus on training and planning for enrollment in 2025.
