The impressive and majestic moments of 'North-South Promise'

On the evening of April 22, at My Dinh National Stadium (Hanoi), the political art program North - South Appointment took place with the theme "Aspiration for unification, heroic memories". This is a national commemorative program, chaired by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, and Hanoi City, directing the Military Radio and Television Center to implement.

Attending the program were Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; General Phan Van Giang - Member of the Politburo, Minister of National Defense ; Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Mr. Mai Van Chinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly.

“North-South Promise” is a journey back to history, to the promises that were written with blood, tears and loyalty of millions of Vietnamese people. The program recreates those promises through the language of political and artistic discourse, combining historical documents, thematic reports, animation, music and modern performance technology.

The program is an occasion to pay tribute to the generations who have fallen for the nation's independence; to express the pride of a united country, a unified North and South, and the determination and greater efforts of today's and future generations to join the country in firmly advancing into the era of national growth.

The show takes place on a large-scale, magnificent live stage, up to 2,700m2, divided into 2 alternating blocks representing the North and South regions, with the Hien Luong bridge spanning the Ben Hai River in the middle. More than 800 actors and artists performed at the program. The North-South Promise Program lasted 115 minutes. Using political and artistic language, the program vividly recreated the North-South promises; the spirit of the North building socialism and the South becoming a united Fatherland...

At the same time, the program recreates the spirit of "Putting down the pen and going to battle"; the steps "faster, faster - bolder, bolder - taking advantage of every hour, every minute to rush to the front, liberating the South" of the Ho Chi Minh Campaign; the call to unite for a common cause.

The program recreated beautiful, majestic images such as historical battles, troops marching across the river, the legendary Truong Son road scene, tanks speeding into the Independence Palace, boats cutting through the waves on the historic Ben Hai river, the joyful scene of the day of national reunification... The audience witnessed images of tanks, rowboats, Zin cars carrying troops, and the image of the gate of peace opening to the future - all creating a vivid picture of the past 50 years of the nation.

The audience was immersed in the heroic atmosphere with immortal epics, combined with magnificent live performances such as: "Song for Uncle Ho", "Night Stars", "Rest in Peace, Mother", "Bringing Rice to Mother Plowing", "My Road Along the Country", "The Green Forest Echoes with the Sound of Ta Lu"...

Thousands of viewers watched the political art program North - South Appointment and lived in a heroic atmosphere.

The program ended with the song "As if Uncle Ho were here on the great victory day" and a 15-minute fireworks display.
