Lam Dong women affirm their core role in local development

On the morning of October 16, the Lam Dong Provincial Women's Union solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2025) and met with the Union's leaders through the periods.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Ha Thi Hanh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Dinh Van Tuan, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; along with representatives of leaders of departments, branches, former leaders of the Women's Union of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan , Dak Nong (old) provinces and a large number of cadres and women's union members in the province.

Speaking to review the tradition, comrade H'Vi EBan, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province, Chairman of the Women's Union of Lam Dong province emphasized: Over 95 years of construction and development, the Vietnam Women's Union has always promoted its role of representing, caring for, and protecting women's rights, making important contributions to the nation's revolutionary cause.

Continuing that tradition, Lam Dong women today continue to affirm their core role in social life, actively participating in building new rural areas, civilized urban areas and developing local socio -economy.

Currently, the province has more than 500,000 women's union members operating in 1,000 branches and grassroots associations. In the period of 2021 - 2025, the Women's Union at all levels has achieved many outstanding results: Supporting 5,000 women's households to escape poverty according to multidimensional poverty criteria; training more than 2,000 female business and cooperative owners; supporting the establishment of 17 new cooperatives managed by women. More than 1,200 projects and tasks for women have been implemented, actively contributing to the program of building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

The movement “Building Lam Dong women of the new era” has spread widely with more than 375,000 members participating; 7,300 typical and advanced collectives and individuals have been commended and rewarded. In particular, the “Godmother” program has sponsored 886 orphans across the province, demonstrating the spirit of compassion and social responsibility of Lam Dong women.

The Provincial Women's Union also presided over the development and approval of the Provincial People's Committee of the Project "Supporting women's cooperatives to participate in management and create jobs for female workers in the period 2024 - 2030"; at the same time, effectively implemented Project 8 with hundreds of models promoting gender equality and enhancing the status of women in ethnic minority areas.

In the political field, the percentage of women participating in the Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term reached 13.5%; female delegates of the Provincial People's Council accounted for 27.9%; many women held important leadership positions in departments, branches and sectors. This is a testament to the capacity, mettle and increasingly affirmed position of Lam Dong women in the political system.

Entering a new stage of development, Lam Dong Women's Union determined to promote the good tradition, combined with the spirit of innovation, creativity and aspiration to rise up to carry out key tasks. Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Tuan acknowledged and commended the great contributions of generations of Lam Dong women in the cause of building and developing the province.

He hoped that all levels of the Association would continue to promote the spirit of initiative, creativity, solidarity, aspiration to rise up, actively respond to patriotic emulation movements, and contribute to building Lam Dong to develop quickly, comprehensively and sustainably.

He suggested that the Association at all levels should continue to innovate the content and methods of operation in line with the practical needs of members; promote digital transformation in the Association's work.
