In his opening speech, Mr. Dao Tien Cuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho province, emphasized that the tournament is an opportunity for players across the country to exchange, learn, practice skills, tactics, and at the same time promote sports training and improve health among middle-aged and elderly people.

This year, the tournament gathered more than 120 athletes from 10 units nationwide, competing in individual and team events for men and women in 4 age groups: 40-50 years old, 51-60 years old, 61-70 years old and 71 years old and above. The time of a game is 30 minutes for one player, 60 minutes for two players; after completing a move, the athlete presses his own clock.

According to Mr. Dao Tien Cuong, the tournament not only has sporting significance but also practically responds to the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", contributing to promoting and promoting the sports, culture and tourism movement of Phu Tho - the homeland, the origin of the Vietnamese people. The event is also an opportunity to strengthen exchanges, connections and cooperation between localities, contributing to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values.
