Admission methods and targets for UTC University of Transport in 2024

VnExpressVnExpress20/01/2024

In 2024, the University of Transport (UTC) will enroll 6,000 students, an increase of 200 compared to last year, and plans to open a Computer Engineering major.

Specifically, the University of Transport will recruit 4,500 students at its headquarters in Hanoi and 1,500 students for its branch in Ho Chi Minh City. In Hanoi, the school plans to open a Computer Engineering major with 50 students. In previous years, the school has trained two majors in the same group: Computer Science and Information Technology.

The University of Transport said it will use four admission methods, with the same conditions as last year. The first method (PT1) is to consider admission based on the results of the high school graduation exam and directly admit students who have won third prize or higher in the national and international excellent student and science and technology competitions.

The second method (PT2) is to consider high school transcripts. In Hanoi , the school considers the average score of three years in the three subjects combined for admission plus priority points. The threshold score for submitting application will be announced by the school later, but no subject is below 5.5.

At the Ho Chi Minh City branch, the conditions for considering transcripts are similar, but the school only considers the scores of three subjects in the combination of 5 high school semesters (except semester II of grade 12).

Third, the school considers the thinking assessment test scores of Hanoi University of Science and Technology for some training majors in Hanoi and considers the capacity assessment test scores of Ho Chi Minh City National University for some majors at the Ho Chi Minh City branch (PT3).

Finally, the school considers the combination of IELTS certificate and the total score of two subjects, including Math and one subject in the admission combination (not Foreign Language), applicable to some majors in Hanoi (PT4). The total score of these two subjects is the average score of grades 10, 11 and 12 and the priority score. The required score is 15 points or more.

Admission criteria, methods and combinations for each major of Hanoi University of Transport are as follows:

Title
Title - 1
Title - 2
Title - 3

For the last three majors with international links, the school recruits 90 students. These programs are awarded degrees by partner schools, and will have separate admission announcements. The school has not yet announced specific quotas for each major at the Ho Chi Minh City branch.

Last year, the University of Transport had the highest admission score of 26.12 for the graduation score method, for Logistics and Supply Chain Management. In general, the training majors in Hanoi have higher entrance scores, with the admission scores mainly ranging from 21 to 25, with only two majors having scores below 19: Hydraulic Engineering (18.3) and Transport Engineering (18.9). At the Ho Chi Minh City branch, the admission scores ranged from 16.15 to 24.83.
