On September 27, at the Ho Chi Minh City General Science Library, Thai Ha Books coordinated with the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of Van Lang University and the author to launch the book 'Emperor Thieu Tri's Poetry - the pinnacle of linguistic art'.

Emperor Thieu Tri (1807 - 1847), the third king of the Nguyen Dynasty, left more than 5,000 pages of poetry in the collection "Royal Poetry Collection", becoming the person who wrote the most poems and created the most poetic forms in medieval literature. For him, poetry was not a pastime for the emperor, but a means of education, expressing the ideal of governing the country and affirming learning.

He was both a poet and a scholar, commentating and interpreting poetics, with a sharp mind and literary theory rarely seen in a monarch.

Author Nguyen Phuoc Hai Trung said that approaching the entire "Royal Poetry Collection" drew him into a rich world , where poetry is both creative in form and profound in thought, and then gradually formed this systematic research work.

Assessing the value of the work, Dr. Ho Quoc Hung, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Van Lang University, emphasized: “The next generation can write many new things, but we still persevere in researching the heritage, because it contains the good values that royal literature left behind. As both a lecturer of social sciences and a former teacher at the author's Hue University, I appreciate his efforts in restoring the value of the poetic heritage of the dynasties.”

Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thai Ha Books, said that this is a “publishing record” as it took less than a month from meeting the author in Hue to printing the book, and in just two months the work was released in Hanoi, Hue and Ho Chi Minh City. Next week, the book will be introduced in Taiwan, then continue its journey at many major book fairs around the world.
