Review progress of energy projects

According to the progress report of the implementation of the two projects of Ninh Thuan 1 and 2 Nuclear Power Plants, the total area of land recovered according to the Prime Minister's decision for the two projects is 1,279.52 hectares. However, in reality, the total area recovered for the two projects is 1,129.14 hectares. Currently, the work of inventory and measurement to determine boundaries, land, and land users is still facing many difficulties, and some people refuse to cooperate.

Regarding the projects in the Power Plan VIII and the adjusted Power Plan VIII, among the 14 projects that have been approved for investment, there is one project, the Hanbaram Wind Power Plant (93MW), which has come into operation; four projects are under construction; eight projects have completed legal procedures to start construction and one project is in the process of selecting an investor. Regarding the group of projects that are completing documents for bidding and selecting investors, the whole province has 32 projects. The Department of Finance is appraising the investment policy for nine projects and the Department of Industry and Trade has prepared a pre-feasibility study report for 23 projects and sent it to the Department of Finance for appraisal.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Minh Hoang affirmed that accelerating the progress of energy projects is very urgent and necessary. In the target of double-digit growth, energy is the decisive pillar for the province's economy to achieve the set plan. Therefore, in order to remove difficulties for the two projects of Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Plant 1 and 2, comrade Trinh Minh Hoang requested relevant departments and branches to coordinate and provide maximum support to localities in compensation, site clearance and resettlement.

For projects that have been approved for investment, comrade Trinh Minh Hoang requested the Department of Finance to review all of them. If any project is behind schedule or has not started construction, it will be considered and handled in December 2025; the Department of Industry and Trade will be assigned to regularly inspect, urge and support investors when they encounter procedural problems. For the remaining projects, he assigned relevant departments and branches to review the procedures and will hold a meeting in the near future.
