PVF-CAND was chosen to replace Quang Nam Club to participate in V-League 2025-2026. Coach Thach Bao Khanh's team is headquartered in Hung Yen and is racing against time to complete its squad and enter the new season.
Unexpected turning point for coach Thach Bao Khanh and his team
Coach Thach Bao Khanh affirmed: "As a professional coach, you must always be ready for any situation." The PVF-CAND leadership has recruited high-class foreign players, strengthened the domestic force, and is ready to dedicate themselves to the task of contributing good matches that satisfy the audience.

August 2nd is an important milestone in the coaching career of Mr. Thach Bao Khanh. As usual, the former Vietnamese player arrived early at the PVF Center to prepare for the morning training session with PVF-CAND. A few hours later, Coach Thach Bao Khanh was suddenly informed that PVF-CAND would be promoted to play in the V-League 2025-2026, replacing Quang Nam.
At that time, the PVF home team had 30 players, including many young players, selected to prepare for the First Division. Participating in the V-League, the coaching staff had to quickly come up with a plan to review the force and recruit foreign players, when the tournament was only 13 days away from kicking off.
Coach Thach Bao Khanh talks about breakthroughs and conquering goals
When he was still in charge of Viettel in V-Legaue 2023 and the 2023-2024 season, Coach Thach Bao Khanh once shared that a professional football team needs 6 weeks to prepare physically, tactically... for the new season.
Meanwhile, when he received the news that PVF-CAND would participate in V-League 2025-2026, Coach Thach Bao Khanh had less than 2 weeks to prepare for the new season, at a new level, with new challenges. With experience and courage, the strategist born in 1979 was ready to face the difficult challenge.
Having nearly 3 weeks to prepare for the new season is neither too short nor too long for a V-League "rookie". Coach Bao Khanh's team has built tactics and improved the players' physical strength for the new challenge, but finding quality foreign players, combined with the team's existing players, is not an easy task.
About 3 years ago, Thach Bao Khanh became the head coach of CAND participating in the 2022 First Division. With his experience, he helped CAND get promoted to V-League 2023 (later renamed Hanoi Police).
Coach Thach Bao Khanh has just completed the AFC Pro Coach course.
In the 2024-2025 First Division, coach Thach Bao Khanh returned to lead his old team PVF-CAND from the second leg but could not complete the promotion goal when he finished 3rd overall.
The two times he has been with PVF-CAND have brought different emotions, but Mr. Khanh's team has finally realized its ambition to participate in the V-League, even with a reserve slot. Having just completed the Pro Coach training course granted by AFC, Coach Thach Bao Khanh is confident that he and his team will show their best in the V-League 2025-2026.
According to the schedule, PVF-CAND will have the opening match of V-League 2025-2026 at home on August 17, welcoming SLNA at 6:00 p.m. (FPT Play).
