At Thong Nhat Stadium (HCMC), a friendly football tournament took place between three teams: the HCMC civil servant team, the HCMC Department of Education and Training team, and the University of Finance and Marketing team.
The program had the participation of Mr. Phan Hong An, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee; Associate Professor - Doctor Tran Hoang Ngan, National Assembly Delegate, former Principal of the University of Finance - Marketing; Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training of the City.
The friendly football tournament strengthens the spirit of solidarity between units, while spreading the humanitarian meaning of joining hands to support the people of the Central region who suffered heavy damage due to storm No. 10.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training, captain of the department's football team, presented a donation plaque of 600 million VND.
Before the match started, the program had raised 1 billion VND.
Three friendly matches took place in a vibrant sporting atmosphere, offering many beautiful moves and memorable moments.
Participating in the tournament, the football team of officials and civil servants of Ho Chi Minh City donated 100 million VND; the football team of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City donated 600 million VND; the football team of civil servants, workers, students and former students of the University of Finance and Marketing donated 300 million VND. In addition, the amount of money mobilized for support was donated right at the stadium, which was 334,200,000 VND. Thus, the total amount of money donated throughout the tournament was more than 1.3 billion VND.
Associate Professor Dr. Pham Tien Dat, Principal of the University of Finance and Marketing, said that storm No. 10 has caused heavy losses in human lives and property of people in the Central region. This is not only a sharing of "the rich help the poor" but also demonstrates the school's responsibility to the community.
"The friendly football match not only left an impression of sportsmanship - solidarity - sharing but also vividly demonstrated the spirit of connection for the community, demonstrating social responsibility and love of the units, lecturers, students and alumni" - Associate Professor Dat expressed.

This donation will be received by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and delivered to people in the Central provinces, contributing to helping people soon stabilize their lives after natural disasters.
