Strengthening cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Coast provinces

The conference aims to evaluate the results of 1 year of coordination in implementing the socio -economic development cooperation agreement between Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Coast provinces signed on April 15, 2023 in Khanh Hoa province. At the same time, it will absorb the opinions of the provincial leaders, record the exchanges, discussions, suggestions and recommendations from experts and businesses, as a basis for Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Coast provinces to continue to coordinate, expand cooperation, and perform well a number of key tasks, contributing to the effective implementation of the cooperation agreement in the period of 2024-2025.

Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, said that the 2024-2025 period is an important period, of decisive significance in completing the goals of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the entire socio-economic development cooperation program between Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Coast provinces.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province requested the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to pay attention to coordinating and supporting the Central Coast region in a number of contents to improve the quality and effectiveness of cooperation and linkage; continue to strengthen experience exchange and technology transfer; pay attention to introducing large enterprises of Ho Chi Minh City to invest in the provinces in the region, creating a driving force for the government to accompany enterprises in bilateral and multilateral cooperation with the provinces.

At the same time, create a favorable environment for startups from the Central Coast region to participate in startup support programs in Ho Chi Minh City.

Along with that is researching, organizing thematic promotion conferences, promoting and attracting Ho Chi Minh City businesses to invest in the region's Economic Zones and Industrial Parks; continuing to support the development of joint tourism promotion campaigns between localities, focusing on cultural, sports and festival events to attract domestic and foreign tourists.

At the same time, we regularly exchange and share experiences, methods, approaches, and models in state management of the health sector; promote the implementation of cooperation programs and medical and doctor exchanges between hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City and localities in the region.

Finally, promote and increase flights to and from Ho Chi Minh City with localities in the region, to create maximum conditions for investors, tourists and people to travel conveniently, thereby opening up new opportunities for cooperation, development and investment.

At the Conference, local leaders, experts and businesses shared many results achieved through the socio-economic development cooperation agreement between Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of the Central Coast region.

Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai, Permanent Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said that besides the achieved results, the implementation of cooperation agreements between localities still has some limitations, requiring localities to work together to focus on overcoming them.

Specifically, some tasks have not been implemented in a timely manner; some industries and fields with strengths and potential have not had cooperation content; there have not been joint cooperation activities between Ho Chi Minh City and localities to move towards the international environment. Finally, the implementation content has only stopped at the provincial and city levels, not yet spread to the district and county levels...

"Ho Chi Minh City requests local leaders to continue to pay attention and unanimously direct local agencies and units to strengthen coordination with Ho Chi Minh City's departments, branches and units to focus on implementing the 2024-2025 Cooperation Program with 11 regional events and 11 bilateral cooperation contents.

In particular, focusing on key areas such as promoting investment, trade and tourism promotion activities; supporting the connection of supply and demand for goods consumption between localities, boosting exports; linking tourism development; supporting the development of the health sector and the development of education and training sectors" - Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai emphasized.

Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai also requested local leaders to pay attention to creating conditions and promptly removing difficulties and obstacles for businesses in Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces in the region because this is the most effective force in implementing the linkage.

Ho Chi Minh City also hopes that the business community of the city and localities in the region will strengthen trade connections, promote investment, and consume products; support each other in experience and technology in management and production for mutual development.
