BSR Youth: Aspiration to reach far, pioneering in creating green and sustainable development

In the development journey of Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR), the youth force has always been a pioneering and creative source of strength, contributing significantly to maintaining the leading role of the national petrochemical industry. In the context of the country promoting energy transition, digital transformation and green transformation, it has affirmed the determination of BSR youth "Aspiration - Shock - Solidarity - Creativity - Efficiency", joining hands to build a fast-growing and sustainable enterprise, for the future of Vietnam's energy.

Imprints of the 2022 - 2027 term: Creativity, compassion and courage

The 7th term of the BSR Youth Union took place amid the fierce fluctuations of the world energy market with unstable crude oil prices, fierce competition from imported sources, geopolitical risks and increasing extreme weather. The limited number of union members has led to organizational and movement challenges. However, in this difficult time, BSR youth have demonstrated the spirit of "pioneers" with discipline, resilience, solidarity and perseverance in sticking to production, accompanying the company to maintain the Dung Quat Oil Refinery to operate safely, stably and effectively.

At BSR, the Youth Union plays a core role in the process of energy transition and cultural elevation of BSR.

BSR Youth Union always considers political and ideological education as the foundation, so the propaganda method has been comprehensively innovated. Forums and thematic activities "Youth with corporate culture", "Youth with digitalization", "Creative living with 7 effective habits" have created a space for learning, dialogue and sharing, helping young people imbue BSR culture, fostering the spirit of thrift, responsibility and honesty. Along with that, the Fanpage "BSR Youth Union" operates as a responsive communication channel, promptly spreading policies and activities to each member, turning digital transformation into a tool to connect and promote action.

The spirit of solidarity of BSR youth shines through many community activities. Trips to remote areas, schools with difficulties, unstable roofs... have marked the sweat and hearts of the youth union members. In recent times, more than 3.9 billion VND in social security has been donated; 10 charity houses have been built; thousands of gifts and scholarships have been given to poor children and victims of Agent Orange; 510 units of blood have been donated; many timely and warm support campaigns have been given to people in the flood-affected areas of the Central region. The programs "Spring of Love", "Sowing the Seeds of the Future", "Warm Mid-Autumn Festival"... not only have beautiful names but also carry a very specific and lasting warmth of sharing over the years.

BSR Youth is a pioneer in scientific research, technical innovation initiatives, and practical contributions to the operation of Dung Quat Oil Refinery.

The most outstanding is the mark of young creativity. In the first three years of the term, union members have registered 458 ideas and initiatives, 216 of which were recognized and applied, bringing in a value of more than 14.5 billion VND. Many solutions go straight to the core "problem" of operation, safety and cost optimization of BSR such as setting up a security fence in the overall maintenance of NMLD, taking care of equipment and self-calibrating laboratory equipment, collecting Oilmist oil at the factory... Those "seeds" of creativity flourish on the foundation of solid knowledge and a receptive attitude, bringing the names of young BSR engineers to be honored many times at the national level.

Along with creativity is the pioneering spirit on the front line of security and safety of BSR youth. During general maintenance periods, the youth volunteer team has made an important contribution to ensuring site discipline, supervising contractors' safety compliance, patrolling order, and providing logistical support so that the direct production force has enough physical strength to work at high intensity. In times of natural disasters, storms and floods or when potential risks arise, the green shirt of BSR youth is always present, demonstrating responsibility and trustworthy courage.

Accompanying young people to grow in skills and courage is also a priority throughout. The group has organized skill competitions, dialogue forums with company and group leaders, many cultural, sports and teambuilding activities to help improve skills and nurture spiritual life. Foreign language training, digital skills, and encouragement of scientific research are implemented systematically, creating a "soft foundation" for young people to be ready to take on more complex jobs.

The work of building the organization has been promoted towards digitalization and professionalism. During the term, BSR Youth Union introduced 33 outstanding members, 29 comrades were admitted to the Party; many branches were honored as "Outstanding Oil and Gas Branches". Inspection and supervision work was carried out regularly, without any disciplinary violations. Overall, 13/14 targets of the term were completed and exceeded the plan; BSR Youth Union received the Excellent Unit Flag of the Vietnam National Energy Industry Group and the Certificate of Merit from the Central Business Bloc Youth Union for many consecutive years. These figures show that in all circumstances, BSR youth are always a pioneering, creative, and responsible force, contributing to the successful completion of the company's production and business tasks.

Term 2025 - 2030: Pioneering digital transformation, green and sustainable development

Entering the 8th term, the world opens a new chapter of clean energy, digital economy and the 4.0 industrial revolution. For BSR, this is an opportunity to break through, and also a test for the mettle of the young generation. The Dung Quat Refinery Upgrade and Expansion Project, along with petrochemical and new energy projects, will be a "great construction site" for training, where BSR's youth can access modern technology, automation, artificial intelligence, receive in-depth training and international cooperation. Along with these are new challenges, increasingly strict ESG requirements, strong shifts in energy transition trends, geopolitical risks and volatile oil prices, labor pressure in the industrial environment... requiring strong innovation in gathering and operating methods.

BSR Youth Union members actively participate in volunteer activities for the community, spreading the spirit of love and sharing.

In that context, the BSR Youth Union aims to build a generation of BSR youth who are patriotic, have revolutionary ideals, strong will, creative intelligence and are imbued with corporate culture. The young force will be the spearhead in digital transformation, scientific research, green energy development, and at the same time be a reliable reserve force of the Party, ready to receive and complete tasks in key positions.

To realize the goals, tasks and solutions set by the Youth Union, the Education Work will continue to innovate in form and content, strongly utilize digital platforms, spread the movement "One good news every day, one beautiful story every week", associated with thematic activities, returning to the source, paying tribute to martyrs to foster ideals, ethics and cultural lifestyle.

Revolutionary action movements are organized in the direction of "widespread - focused - measurable", closely following production and business tasks such as volunteering associated with social security, environmental protection and climate change response; "Creative Youth" encourages initiative proposals, undertakes projects, organizes "BSR - Creative Youth" annually, builds an online idea space; takes the initiative to protect the Fatherland through activities towards seas and islands, traffic safety, NMLD security and safety and overall maintenance; builds BSR culture by imbuing 5 core values, spreading "7 effective habits", implementing the 5S model, encouraging reading culture and learning culture.

In addition, the BSR Youth Union will continue to create conditions for young people to improve their expertise, skills, foreign languages, and digital skills; form study clubs and research groups; promote physical training and enrich their spiritual life through arts, sports, and exchanges. The Youth Union organization is strengthened in the direction of streamlining, flexibility, and digitalization of administration; the Youth Union cadres are well-trained in thinking, technology, and movement leadership skills; Youth Union branch activities are innovated to be more attractive, suitable for the pace of industrial production. And as a source, the Youth Union continues to be a "nursery" for young cadres for the Party to nurture outstanding members, organize the forum "Party with Youth - Youth with Party", honor exemplary young Party members, and arouse the motivation to strive and contribute.

The propaganda activity on using E10 RON95 bio-fuel in Quang Ngai received active response and participation from many BSR Youth Union members.

The 8th Congress of the BSR Youth Union is a milestone affirming the spirit of solidarity, aspiration and intelligence of the young generation in the era of energy transition. There are many challenges ahead, but it also opens up new horizons for creativity, for projects, initiatives and humanitarian actions bearing the BSR youth brand. With the spirit of "Fire Seekers", BSR youth continue to take the lead, contributing to building BSR into a modern, green and sustainable Vietnam Oil and Gas Refining Corporation, affirming the core role of the enterprise in ensuring national energy security.

The aspirations, intelligence and bravery of BSR youth converge at the 8th Congress, aiming for the goal of green and sustainable development.

The belief in BSR youth comes not only from the impressive numbers of the past term, but also from the attitude towards life and work: integrity, professionalism, solidarity, creativity and efficiency. These are the “5 values” that make up the mettle of BSR people, the foundation for the young generation to confidently enter the new term as leaders.
