Ukrainian missile penetrates Russia's fortified defenses, hits ferry in Crimea

"Ukrainian Self-Defense Forces attacked the Kerch ferry with the ATACMS system last night. This ferry is actively used by Russia to supply troops stationed in Crimea," the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine wrote in a post on Facebook on May 30.

Notably, the attacked area was protected by advanced Russian air defense systems, including Pantsirs, Tors and Triumphs. However, Kiev succeeded in using missiles produced in the 90s to penetrate Moscow's solid defenses.

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, two Russian cargo ferries were significantly damaged in the attack. One ran aground, blocking traffic in the entire Kerch ferry area.

Images released by Radio Liberty show a ferry believed to have sunk at the Kerch Sea Fish port.

Russia has not yet commented on the above information.
