The 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030 took place at the Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials (Binh Thanh Ward) from October 13 - 15.
The Congress is an important political event for the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City, attracting the attention of agencies, organizations and people of all walks of life not only in the city but also in the whole country.

The congress has the theme: "Building a clean and strong Party organization and political system; promoting the strength of national solidarity; making breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and private economic development; strengthening national defense, security, foreign affairs and international integration; mobilizing and effectively using all resources for Ho Chi Minh City to be a pioneer with the whole country in the new era".
Attending the congress were General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu, and members of the Politburo and Secretariat. Also attending were former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, Ho Chi Minh City and localities. The General Secretary is expected to deliver a speech directing the congress.

The official delegates summoned to attend the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress are 547 delegates, including 106 ex-officio delegates and 441 delegates appointed at the Party Committees of communes, wards, special zones and grassroots Party Committees directly under the City Party Committee.
The 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress only carried out 2 contents, including: summarizing the implementation of the Congress Resolution for the 2020-2025 term and determining the directions, goals, and solutions for the 2025-2030 term. In addition, the congress discussed and contributed opinions to the draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress.

The Congress will announce the decision of the Politburo and the Secretariat on the appointment of the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, the Secretary, the Deputy Secretaries, the Inspection Committee, the Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term I, 2025 - 2030; and the personnel of the Ho Chi Minh City delegation to attend the 14th National Congress of the Party.

The first Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress also had a major reform in thinking and awareness about thoroughly applying technology in organizing the congress, in order to save time and costs.
