Da Nang City and Grab Vietnam cooperate to promote digital transformation

(Chinhphu.vn) - Within the framework of the 19th Vietnam - Singapore Economic Connectivity Ministerial Meeting (CMM), the People's Committee of Da Nang City and Grab Vietnam launched the Action Plan to implement the Memorandum of Understanding to promote smart city building and digital transformation.

Previously, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the People's Committee of Da Nang City and Grab Vietnam took place in Da Nang City on September 22, 2025. With this cooperation agreement, Grab continues to affirm its commitment to promoting digital transformation and creating positive impacts in localities through public-private partnerships.

Within the framework of 5-year cooperation, Da Nang City People's Committee and Grab Vietnam will focus on the following key areas:

Application of technology and digital transformation in the field of transportation

Accordingly, the two sides will coordinate to research methods for building a traffic and road image information system after storms using technology and big data; at the same time, promote the implementation of initiatives to build a culture of safe traffic, for example the initiative "If you drink alcohol, do not drive".

In addition, the People's Committee of Da Nang City will create conditions and accompany Grab to carry out digital transformation for traditional forms of transport in the locality and enhance opportunities to increase income for car transport businesses and motorbike drivers by joining the Grab platform.

Promoting Da Nang cuisine and tourism through digital platforms

To help Da Nang affirm its position on the regional and international tourism map, Grab will focus on digital transformation initiatives, promoting local cuisine and specialties. These initiatives include equipping small and micro-food establishments with digital tools to improve business efficiency and digitizing Da Nang's "Food Tour" program. In addition, Grab will be a companion, actively supporting the organization of major cultural and social events in Da Nang city.

Grab will work with local universities to equip students with knowledge on digital platforms, technology, enhance digital skills, and apply artificial intelligence (AI). The two sides will also coordinate to enhance training and improve digital skills for local workers, especially female workers; at the same time, implement environmental initiatives towards sustainable development.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City and Grab Vietnam agreed on an Action Plan for 2025 - 2026, prioritizing activities that can be implemented immediately, as a premise for technology application and digital transformation activities.

Within the framework of the ceremony, the People's Committee of Da Nang City and Grab Vietnam agreed on the Action Plan for 2025 - 2026, prioritizing activities that can be implemented immediately, as a premise for technology application and digital transformation activities in three areas of cooperation, including: Organizing a Da Nang tourism promotion conference to cooperate and promote digital platforms such as Grab, as a bridge to reach domestic and international tourists, selling service packages; Launching a technology and artificial intelligence application contest for university students in Da Nang; Organizing a conference on e-commerce for micro, small and medium enterprises in Da Nang; Deploying tree planting in Phu Ninh protective forest, Da Nang (former Quang Nam)

Previously, Grab Vietnam has implemented many projects to promote tourism and serve the community in Da Nang. Last August, Grab cooperated with the Da Nang Culinary Culture Association to organize the "Famous Restaurant" award ceremony for nearly 70 local eateries and restaurants to honor culinary establishments that have contributed to preserving and promoting the culinary values ​​of Da Nang.

At Da Nang International Airport, Grab has also launched the Grab Information Counter since April 2025. This is where tourists are supported to book transportation services and are provided with many other utilities such as registering for travel incentive packages, information about local specialty restaurants. In addition, Grab has installed more than 130 stone benches and Experience Stations in popular public areas, creating more resting and relaxing places for locals and tourists, while helping them experience Grab services more conveniently.
