Vietnam futsal team received big bonus before leaving China

The Vietnamese futsal team was awarded VND600 million for their achievement of qualifying for the 2026 Asian Futsal Finals with three wins in the qualifying round.

Today, September 25, the Vietnamese futsal team will leave China to return home and is expected to arrive in Vietnam at 6:30 p.m. the same day, concluding the journey of preparing and successfully competing in the 2026 Asian Futsal Qualifiers.

At the end of the qualifying round, coach Diego Giustozzi and his team won all three matches, defeating Hong Kong 9-1, China 7-2 and Lebanon 4-0.

At the tournament, the Vietnamese futsal team showed a lively attacking style of play, scoring a total of 20 goals and conceding only 3. With the top spot in Group E, the team completed the goal of qualifying for the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship.

Immediately after this achievement, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) sent congratulations to the whole team and decided to reward coach Diego Giustozzi and his team with 600 million VND.

This is a well-deserved recognition for the serious training process and dedicated performances of captain Pham Duc Hoa and his teammates.

Up to this point, 14 out of 16 tickets to the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship have been determined. Those are the 7 group winners Australia (Group A), Thailand (Group B), Japan (Group C), Vietnam (Group E), Kyrgyzstan (Group F), Iran (Group G) and Afghanistan (Group H) and host Indonesia.

The six best runners-up were Kuwait, South Korea, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Lebanon and Malaysia.

Currently, only Group D (Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Chinese Taipei, Pakistan) is still undecided. This group will compete from October 18 to 22 in Saudi Arabia to determine the last 2 spots in the Final Round.

During the remaining time of 2025, the Vietnamese futsal team will aim for the 2025 SEA Games taking place in December in Thailand.

After that, the whole team will continue to focus on the 2026 Asian Futsal Finals, held in Indonesia from January 27 to February 7 with the participation of 16 strongest teams on the continent.

By winning a ticket to the 2026 Asian Futsal Finals, the Vietnam futsal team became the fourth Vietnamese football team to participate in a continental final in 2026.

Previously, the Vietnam women's team, the Vietnam U23 team and the Vietnam U20 women's team had successfully passed the qualifying round to enter the 2026 Asian Finals.
