At around 10:00 a.m. on October 8, charity meals were delivered through the streets and residential areas to nearly 90 students and teachers of the Thai Nguyen Center for Supporting the Development of Inclusive Education.
After more than a day of being isolated by floodwaters, living and learning conditions at the Center were very difficult. The Center’s gate was deeply flooded, and the charity group and teachers had to climb over the wall with ladders to bring food to the students.
Those hot meals in that special situation were full of love and sharing from the community.

Mr. La Duong Chung, group 5, Phan Dinh Phung ward, joined the volunteer group. |
As the director of a construction materials company, when the people in the neighborhood were isolated, Mr. La Duong Chung, group 5, Phan Dinh Phung ward, temporarily put aside his work to organize cooking and food supplies with some acquaintances.
In just one morning, Mr. La Duong Chung was able to deliver more than 200 meals, along with many other necessities, thanks to a rescue boat reaching people in flooded areas.
From lane 295 Phan Dinh Phung street, the rising water completely isolated many residential areas. Many people and volunteer groups showed up early to provide food and drinking water.
Many rescue boats from neighboring provinces stayed up all night, racing against the floodwaters to evacuate people from dangerous areas. Some other volunteer groups also braved the wind and rain, mobilizing more boats, dividing into many directions to bring necessities to deeply flooded areas.

Many volunteer groups waded in the water to support people. |
Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong, resident of Phan Dinh Phung ward, one of the people who joined the support group since the night of October 7, shared: My house is near the river so I discovered the water level rising abnormally fast. Many areas such as Tuc Duyen, Quang Vinh (old) are seriously lacking in necessities, and the water is so strong that only motorboats can enter.
Last night, we approached a group of brothers who were on duty at the Provincial Museum area. They had been on duty for nearly 10 hours without any food or drink. When receiving food from us, everyone was in a good mood because they were supplied in time... I really feel that what I do is very worthwhile , Mr. Cuong added.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Linh's son was brought to safety. |
In the deep flooded area, many families are still isolated. The 4-year-old son of Mr. Nguyen Tuan Linh, in Group 21, Phan Dinh Phung Ward, was stuck at home for more than a day, making the whole family extremely worried. When the rescue team reached and took the child to safety by boat, Mr. Linh could not hide his emotion: " Thank you very much to the volunteer teams. After receiving my son, my family is no longer worried."
In fact, the past few days have shown that, in addition to providing relief supplies, the work of moving and evacuating people from dangerous areas has also been urgently deployed. In particular, groups of elderly people, children, pregnant women, and sick people are given top priority.

Support activities for flood victims have been stepped up, providing timely support with food and essential necessities. |
Currently, many relief teams from localities across the country are transporting rescue supplies to Thai Nguyen, in order to promptly support people.
In the rainy and flood conditions, each hot meal, each box of noodles, bottle of water, life jacket… has been and is contributing to sharing the difficulties of thousands of people in the flooded areas. And, in times of trouble, the spirit of solidarity and sharing has once again multiplied, becoming a solid support for Thai Nguyen to overcome difficulties and stabilize life together.
