To Hien Thanh High School was fined 20 million VND for illegal enrollment

For illegal enrollment, To Hien Thanh High School was administratively fined 20 million VND.

The Inspectorate of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just decided to administratively sanction the Principal of To Hien Thanh High School, Ha Dong District (Hanoi) for violating regulations on organizing educational activities.

According to the penalty decision, To Hien Thanh High School organized educational activities without permission. The school's behavior violated the provisions of Point b, Clause 5, Article 6 of Decree 04/2021/ND-CP of the Government regulating administrative sanctions in the field of education. The amount of money that To Hien Thanh High School was fined for the above violation is 20 million VND.

Previously, at the end of October 2024, the incident of To Hien Thanh High School (Van Quan ward, Ha Dong district) not being assigned enrollment targets for the 2024-2025 school year due to not meeting legal conditions regarding the location of operation caused confusion and anxiety for all 10th grade students studying at the school.

Upon receiving the information, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training sent an inspection team to urgently work with relevant parties to find a solution in the spirit of ensuring the rights of students. The plan under consideration is to transfer all 10th grade students of To Hien Thanh High School to study at Van Lang High School (Dong Da District).

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training requested To Hien Thanh High School to organize a meeting between the parties, including the school, the board of control, 174 parents, and Van Lang High School to agree on a solution to ensure the consensus of 100% of parents. Along with that, the Department requested the school to apologize to parents for the violations in the 10th grade enrollment without the permission of the Department.

At the request of the Department, To Hien Thanh High School fully announces the current tuition fees and the expected tuition fees for the next 2 years of Van Lang High School to parents and students, ensuring publicity in accordance with regulations.

On November 21, 174 students of To Hien Thanh High School who were illegally enrolled officially became students of Van Lang High School and had student identification codes on the Hanoi Department of Education and Training's Information Portal.

Fulfilling the commitment, the students' studies will not be interrupted or disrupted because Van Lang High School will keep the tuition, program, subjects, and classes unchanged; at the same time, create the best conditions for transportation for the students.
