Bringing legal policies on voluntary social insurance and health insurance to the people

Can Tho City Social Insurance (SHI) has just coordinated with Can Tho Post Office, Hau Giang Post Office, Soc Trang Post Office to organize a launching ceremony to respond to Vietnam Health Insurance Day - Month of propaganda and mobilization for people to participate in voluntary social insurance and family health insurance. Thereby, promoting communication of policies and laws on social insurance and health insurance to all classes of people, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere between the Social Insurance and Post Office sectors, determined to successfully implement the goal of social insurance and health insurance for all people.

Social insurance officials and Ninh Kieu Central Post Office staff went to the homes of households in Area 2, Cai Khe Ward, Can Tho City to propagate and mobilize participation in voluntary social insurance and family health insurance.

Ms. Luu Thi Hong Lan, Deputy Head of Area 2, Cai Khe Ward, said: “I often coordinate with the local social insurance and health insurance collection service organization to go to people's homes to propagate and encourage people to participate in insurance. During the campaign, I update and disseminate new regulations, helping people grasp information and boldly participate in insurance.”

Since the beginning of the year, the city's Social Insurance sector has been proactive, closely following the direction and management solutions of Vietnam Social Insurance, the City Party Committee, and the City People's Committee; closely coordinating with departments, branches, sectors and local authorities, especially the Postal sector to effectively implement policies and laws on social insurance and health insurance.

Mr. Pham Giang Son, Director of Hau Giang Post Office, shared: "With a wide network and closeness to the people, we are committed to continuing to accompany and closely coordinate with the Social Insurance industry and organizations and unions, bringing social insurance and health insurance policies closer to each household."

At the launching ceremony to respond to Vietnam Health Insurance Day - Month of propaganda and mobilization of people to participate in voluntary social insurance, family health insurance, Can Tho Post Office, Hau Giang Post Office and Soc Trang Post Office launched the emulation program. Accordingly, from July 17 to 19, 2025, the Post Office will provide additional support to units that meet the target of generating new voluntary social insurance participants, the support level ranges from 5,000-12,000 VND/voluntary social insurance book. For family health insurance, the support levels depending on each payment method are 3 months, 6 months and 12 months, corresponding to 2,000 VND/card, 3,000 VND/card and a maximum of 5,000 VND/card.

According to statistics, after 3 days of launching (July 17-19, 2025), the entire Can Tho City Social Insurance system coordinated with the Post Office to establish over 200 propaganda groups, directly consulting about 3,000 people. As a result, 559 new people were mobilized to participate in voluntary social insurance, 1,045 people participated in family health insurance.

Can Tho Post Office, Hau Giang Post Office and Soc Trang Post Office have developed a plan, organized a methodical and synchronous force with 224 participants, established 115 consulting groups, closely coordinated with social insurance officials, directly went to each household to propagate, advise on policies and mobilize people to participate in voluntary social insurance and family health insurance. Strive for each central post office, regional post office and district post office to have at least 100 new participants in voluntary social insurance and 200 new participants in family health insurance.

Ms. Dang Kim Huyen, an employee of Ninh Kieu Central Post Office, said: “Immediately after the launching ceremony, the propaganda forces of the two branches of Social Insurance and Post Office simultaneously deployed, spread out to all the streets, residential areas, directly to each household to propagate, advise, and mobilize participation in voluntary social insurance and family health insurance. Thanks to that, many people grasped the legal regulations, insurance policies and registered to participate.”

At the launching ceremony, Mr. Quach Thanh Nha, Deputy Director of Can Tho City Social Insurance, emphasized: "To achieve the new development targets of the number of people participating in voluntary social insurance and family health insurance, the sectors must widely inform all classes of people about social insurance and health insurance policies. Hopefully, the launching ceremony will create momentum to complete the development targets of voluntary social insurance and family health insurance in 2025 assigned by Vietnam Social Insurance."
