The 4.9 magnitude earthquake in Mang Ri commune caused strong tremors. According to Mr. Hoang Xuan Thang, a resident of Mang Ri commune, when the earthquake occurred, he was sleeping and felt the metal roof, door, and bed shaking strongly, so he was scared and ran outside.
Mr. Pham Xuan Quang, Chairman of Mang Ri Commune People's Committee, said that the earthquake in the area caused strong shaking but initial statistics showed that it did not cause any damage to people or property.

In Tu Mo Rong commune (bordering Mang Ri commune), the locality has not recorded any damage caused by the earthquake despite causing tremors in the area.
People in Gia Lai province, about 180km from Mang Ri commune (the epicenter of the earthquake), also felt the tremors caused by the earthquake.
