VnExpressVnExpress23/03/2024

Vietnam sent condolences to Russia after the attack at a theater in a Moscow suburb that killed more than 60 people, and strongly condemned the terrorist attack.

Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan has sent a message of condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin after the terrorist attack on the evening of March 22 at a concert at the Crocus shopping mall on the outskirts of Moscow that left many people dead and injured, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement today. Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son also sent a message of condolences to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Pham Thu Hang said Vietnam was "deeply shocked to receive information about the brutal terrorist attack." "Vietnam strongly condemns terrorist attacks in all forms and firmly believes that the perpetrators will be duly punished," Ms. Hang said.

The spokesman said that so far, no Vietnamese victims have been recorded in the incident in Crocus. The Vietnamese Embassy in Moscow is coordinating with local authorities to monitor the situation and is ready to take necessary protective measures in case any Vietnamese citizens are in trouble.

The terrorists then escaped in a vehicle before Russian special forces arrived at the scene.

This is the bloodiest terrorist attack in the Russian capital in the past 20 years. The United Nations and many countries have strongly condemned the terrorist attack.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Moscow recommends that the Vietnamese community in Russia limit their presence in crowded areas, regularly monitor and update information, and immediately contact the Embassy in case of emergency for support.
