General Secretary To Lam and his wife offer flowers in memory of President Ho Chi Minh and General Secretary Le Duan in Moscow.

According to the special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, within the framework of the official visit to the Russian Federation and the attendance at the 80th Anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War, on the evening of May 10 (local time), General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, laid flowers at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument (Ho Chi Minh Square) and laid flowers at the memorial stele of General Secretary Le Duan (Le Duan Square), in Moscow, the Russian Federation.

In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, offered flowers to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh, the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people, the outstanding leader of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the world Communist movement, the national liberation hero, and an outstanding cultural figure. President Ho Chi Minh was also a great friend of the Russian people. He laid the foundation for the traditional friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

The Ho Chi Minh President Monument is located in a 676m2 square with 3 landings and 8 wide steps symbolizing 8 lotus petals. The monument is made of bronze with a height of 5m and placed on a bronze pedestal 6m long and 0.5m thick. The pedestal below the monument solemnly inscribed with President Ho Chi Minh's quote in Russian: "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom".

This is a familiar place for Vietnamese people in the Russian Federation on holidays, Tet, festivals or happy family days. Vietnamese expatriates in the Russian Federation often come here to lay flowers in front of the statue of President Ho Chi Minh.

* Next, at Le Duan Square, in front of the memorial stele of General Secretary Le Duan, General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, offered flowers in memory of General Secretary Le Duan, an excellent and close student of President Ho Chi Minh. He was an outstanding and brilliant leader of the Party, a creative theorist, full of humanity, simplicity and modesty. In international activities, he made a very important contribution to building and consolidating the special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and fraternal friendship between Vietnam and the Soviet Union and other socialist brother countries.

At the center of the square, a red granite memorial stele is engraved with the words in Russian: “Le Duan Square: In memory of the famous activist of the international communist workers' movement and national liberation, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, great friend of the Soviet Union, 1907-1986”.
