Discover the famous grapefruit village of Dong Nai
The Tan Trieu VHDL Village product is built in Tan Trieu land, where Tan Trieu grapefruit is famous. Tan Trieu grapefruit village is located entirely on a small island, surrounded by Dong Nai river. Because it is irrigated by Dong Nai river water all year round, the grapefruit gardens always have fruit to harvest all year round and have a unique flavor.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa (residing in Trung My Tay ward, Ho Chi Minh City) has been to Tan Trieu grapefruit village many times to enjoy delicious dishes and visit and explore the famous grapefruit growing area of Dong Nai. According to Ms. Hoa, this is a regular destination for her friends and family on weekends. “Every time we come to Tan Trieu grapefruit village, we are free to visit the grapefruit garden, enjoy delicious dishes and take souvenir photos together in a cool natural space, under the canopy of grapefruit trees laden with fruit. I have known Tan Trieu grapefruit village for nearly 10 years now, although I have been there many times, every time I have the chance, I still like to come back to enjoy grapefruit and delicious dishes in the peaceful countryside atmosphere, completely different from the noisy urban area”.
Implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches, units and localities to deploy the plan to implement the Tan Trieu Cultural and Tourism Village tourism model. Tan Trieu grapefruit village has an area of nearly 400 hectares, mainly growing two main grapefruit varieties: orange-leaf grapefruit and green-skin grapefruit. Of which, the majority of the area is planted with orange-leaf grapefruit. Due to the soil characteristics that are very suitable for this variety of tree, the grapefruit is very juicy when eaten, has a cool sweet taste mixed with a slightly sour taste that is very attractive to users. Currently, most of the grapefruit villagers use organic fertilizers and microorganisms in caring for grapefruit to both protect the environment and ensure a clean, safe food source for consumers' health. With the above characteristics, since 2012, Tan Trieu grapefruit has been granted geographical indications with two grapefruit varieties including orange-leaf grapefruit and guava grapefruit. Tan Trieu grapefruit is currently one of the agricultural products that bring high economic value to farmers in Tan Trieu land.
