Green industrial production at Long Duc Industrial Park (Binh An commune, Dong Nai province). |
One of the orientations identified by the congress is to continue to innovate the growth model, maximize potential and advantages to develop Dong Nai quickly and sustainably.
Breakthrough from advantages
Dong Nai is located in the center of the Southern key economic zone, an important trade hub connecting the Central Highlands provinces with Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.
The province currently owns a synchronous transport infrastructure system, with all 5 modes: road, railway, inland waterway, aviation and maritime. In particular, Long Thanh International Airport, which is about to be completed, will be a great driving force for the development of industry, services and logistics. Along with that, Phuoc An Port, highways, and belt roads are being and will be completed in the near future, creating a modern, regional and international transport network. When these projects come into operation, they will help Dong Nai become a major logistics center in the supply chain of goods. In addition, Hoa Lu Border Gate Economic Zone is an opportunity for the province to expand trade cooperation, investment, and border economic development combined with strengthening national defense and security.
For many years, Dong Nai has been known as a province with early and strong industrial development in the country. Currently, the province has 83 planned industrial parks (IPs), of which more than 50% are in operation, attracting thousands of domestic and foreign enterprises to invest. Along with geographical and infrastructure advantages, the IPs in the planning are favorable conditions for the province to attract strategic investors, new generation investors in the fields of high technology, supporting industry, and green industry.
Agriculture is also an advantage of Dong Nai with more than 1 million hectares of land and many products such as rubber, cashew, livestock, fruit trees, etc. that have created a brand in the market. This continues to be an important foundation in the economic structure of the province.
Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang informed: The province has the largest forest area in the Southeast region, a rich ecosystem with world biosphere reserves, national parks, nature and cultural reserves, and mangrove forests are "invaluable assets" for developing eco-tourism and resorts associated with nature conservation, environmental protection and sustainable development.
Based on existing advantages and achieved socio-economic foundations, the congress resolution clearly identified two main development drivers: industrial development towards high technology, modernity, and environmental friendliness, filling existing industrial parks and expanding potential industrial parks; developing services, taking Long Thanh International Airport as the core of a comprehensive service urban area, forming a free trade center and an ecosystem of aviation - logistics - trade - tourism services.
With its central position in the Southern key economic region, an increasingly complete transport infrastructure system and abundant resources, Dong Nai is facing a great opportunity to make a breakthrough. Effectively exploiting the advantages of industry, import-export services, agriculture, and eco-tourism will create momentum for the province to grow rapidly and sustainably, realizing the goal of becoming a modern industrial, service, and logistics center of the region and the whole country.
Towards sustainable development
Sustainable development, not trading the environment for short-term growth, is a consistent viewpoint that Dong Nai has persistently implemented over the past many years.
According to comrade Vo Tan Duc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, in the coming period, Dong Nai will continue to innovate its growth model from breadth to depth, improving productivity, quality and competitiveness of the economy.
Accordingly, the province will increase the proportion of industry and services, while gradually reducing the proportion of agriculture and forestry; restructure public investment, state-owned enterprises and credit institutions towards efficiency; prioritize resources for development investment, strategic infrastructure and technological innovation. In addition, the province encourages businesses to invest in low-emission production and consumption industries, aiming for a green economy with net zero emissions by 2050.
In the industrial sector, the province orients development towards ecology and high technology, promoting processing industries, precision mechanics, supporting industries, new technology industries. Encourage and support the conversion of existing industrial parks into ecological models, applying technology and automation in production. In addition, the province expands investment attraction in fields with high added value and suitable to local trends and advantages such as: aviation industry, semiconductor industry, electronic chip manufacturing, automation equipment.
Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030 sets the target: average GRDP growth rate of 10%/year or more; economic structure by 2030 is: industry - construction 60-64%; agriculture - forestry, fishery 5-7%; trade - services 25-28%; the rest is product tax.
Promote the strong development of trade, services and tourism through the establishment of free trade zones, service logistics areas; warehouse systems, dry ports associated with industrial parks, airports and border gates to meet domestic and foreign trade needs.
The agricultural sector is restructured towards modernization, applying high technology, mechanization and deep processing. The province focuses on developing concentrated production areas, increasing added value, linking production with brand building and agricultural value chains. The goal is to turn Dong Nai into a center for preserving and processing agricultural products and a center for plant varieties in the Southeast and Central Highlands regions.
At the same time, the province continues to manage, protect and restore natural forests, develop the economy in conjunction with biodiversity conservation and ecological environment, contributing to building modern new countryside, ecological agriculture and civilized farmers.
With strategic vision, determination of the entire political system and consensus of the people, Dong Nai is converging all conditions to make a breakthrough in the new period.
The congress resolution is the core orientation, a solid foundation for successfully implementing the goals and tasks in the next 5 years. At the congress, comrade Vu Hong Van, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation requested: Urgently develop and implement programs and action plans to quickly put the resolution into life. Launch widespread patriotic emulation movements throughout the Party, people and army, contributing to building Dong Nai province to develop green, strong, civilized and modern.
