1,200 workers excitedly took 25 free buses home for Tet

(Dan Tri) - On the morning of February 7, 25 free buses took 1,200 workers and laborers working in industrial parks in Hanoi home for Tet.

On the morning of February 7, 1,200 workers working in industrial parks and export processing zones in Hanoi returned home to celebrate Tet on 25 charity buses organized by the Capital Trade Union.

From early morning, at the Thang Long Industrial Park Management House (Dong Anh, Hanoi), many workers, their relatives and children were present with luggage, belongings... ready to return home to celebrate Lunar New Year .

Free buses will take workers and their families to localities such as Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh .

Mr. Canh (a worker at Thang Long Industrial Park) hurriedly carried his belongings to the gathering point to catch the bus. Mr. Canh said: "In the past, booking a bus to go home for Tet was very difficult and the cost was quite high, and traveling with a small child was also difficult. Since the free bus, I find going home easier than ever."

A lot of furniture and luggage were moved by workers to the luggage compartment of the 45-seat passenger bus.

Mr. Huu Duong (from Nghe An ) emotionally waved goodbye to his wife and children to go home first on the free bus. Mr. Duong shared that since he still had a motorbike as his means of transportation, he let his wife and children go home first and he would go home by motorbike himself.

Mr. Mai Tien Dung, holding his daughter in his arms, excitedly shared that he was very happy to be on the free bus today. Previously, to go back to his hometown, his family had to take a bus to Nuoc Ngam bus station, about 30km from the motel, then had to buy a bus ticket for 4 people, costing about 1.2 million VND, plus food costs of about 300,000 VND, very expensive. The total amount is almost double the cost of his family renting a room for 1 month in Kim Chung (Dong Anh).

Ms. Cao Thi Quyen (from Nghe An, recently on maternity leave) was on the free bus to go home for Tet. Ms. Quyen shared: "My husband and I work in Bac Ninh but our head office is in Dong Anh, so we were very lucky to successfully register for the free bus to go home. As early as 4am, the whole family got up to check our belongings and head to the meeting point. I am very happy because with buses like this, we will save a lot of travel expenses."

Leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor were present at the ceremony to send workers back to their hometowns, and also gave lucky money to children of workers on 25 buses.

Workers are excited on the free bus back home for Tet.

Leaders representing the departments of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the departments of the City Party Committee, the City Party Committee Office, and the Hanoi People's Committee Office waved goodbye to workers returning home for Tet.
