In the letter, AFC affirmed: “Congratulations to the Vietnam U17 women's national team for their excellent performance in winning Group D in the qualifying round and officially winning a ticket to the 2026 AFC U17 Women's Championship Finals in China. The team's determination and dedication were clearly demonstrated through the matches.”
Also in the letter, AFC expressed sincere thanks to the Vietnam Football Federation and the local Organizing Committee for their thoughtful, professional preparation and enthusiastic reception of the participating delegations.
“The dedication, constant efforts and professional working spirit of the Vietnam Football Federation and the local Organizing Committee in ensuring the organization and operation of the tournament are very commendable and appreciated.”
The qualifying round of Group D took place from October 13 to 17, 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing together 3 teams: Vietnam, Hong Kong (China) and Guam. With two convincing victories against U17 Guam and U17 Hong Kong (China), coach Okiyama Masahiko's students led the group, winning the only ticket to the Final Round to be held in China in 2026.
The Asian Football Confederation’s congratulatory letter is not only a great source of encouragement for coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team, but also affirms the position and prestige of Vietnamese women’s football in the region. At the same time, this is also a recognition of the professional event organization capacity of the Vietnam Football Federation, contributing to promoting the image of Vietnamese football in the international arena.
“Once again, thank you very much, wish the Vietnam U17 women's team continued success and see you again at the Final Round in 2026” - excerpt from the letter of the Asian Football Confederation.
