On the morning of March 28, the interdisciplinary inspection team of Hanh Tin Tay commune (Nghia Hanh district, Quang Ngai province) organized an inspection and discovered a candy stall in front of the school gate selling candy of unknown origin, causing students to show signs of food poisoning.
The initial investigation determined that on March 25, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nhi (Phu Khuong village, Hanh Tin Tay commune), owner of Nhi Ka shop, bought 4 packages of candy in pill form, with colorful candy wrappers, no brand or origin at Quang Ngai market, each package weighing 0.5 kg for 50,000 VND/kg to resell at 1,000 VND/4 pills.
However, after students of Hanh Tin Tay Secondary School bought and used the product, in recent days, they have shown signs of nausea, stomachache, and chest tightness. The Board of Directors of Hanh Tin Tay Secondary School determined that up to now, 15 students have shown signs of poisoning and have been transferred to Nghia Hanh District Medical Center for examination and health monitoring.
At the time of the inspection by the commune's interdisciplinary team, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nhi had sold these candies to many students and only had 0.8 kg left.
Hanh Tin Tay Commune Police have drawn up a record and reported to Nghia Hanh District Police for monitoring, and at the same time, continue to verify and handle according to regulations.
