Khang introduced himself as having close relations with high-ranking leaders and through Le Nguyen Hoang Nam to carry out this work. Nam asked Khang to pay an advance fee and sign a contract with a lawyer appointed by Nam for 200 million VND.
Khang agreed and promised Ms. Chau that the defendant would be released on bail within a week at a cost of 9 billion VND. Then, Khang asked Ms. Chau to pay 7 billion VND in advance, of which 6 billion VND was expected to be transferred to Nam and 1 billion VND was kept as a salary.
