Apple wins exclusive rights to broadcast F1 in the US
Apple has signed a five-year deal with Formula 1 parent company Liberty Media to become the exclusive broadcaster of F1 in the US from 2026. Apple TV subscribers will have access to all Grand Prix races, including practice, qualifying and sprint races. Some races will be available for free on the Apple TV app, especially practice sessions.

The deal marks a new step in Apple's strategy to expand its sports content. Apple already has a long-term deal with MLS. However, the future of MLB baseball broadcasting on Apple TV remains unclear.
Apple is said to be paying between $120 million and $150 million a year for the rights to broadcast F1, far exceeding the $90 million a year ESPN previously paid. The deal could also be part of a strategy to capitalize on the success of Apple’s “F1 the Movie,” which was a summer blockbuster and a powerful promotional tool for the brand.
Microsoft reimagines virtual assistants with Copilot
Microsoft is betting big on Copilot as a new AI assistant, replacing Cortana – the voice assistant that failed in the 2010s. Copilot is expected to understand natural language, recognize text and speech, and perform tasks on behalf of users.
Windows 11 users can summon Copilot by saying “Hey, Copilot,” similar to how you summon Siri or Alexa. Alternatively, the Copilot key or the Windows + C shortcut can also activate the assistant. The “Goodbye” command will shut down Copilot.

Microsoft is pushing AI into its products. AI is no longer limited to individual apps, but is being integrated into core components like the taskbar, Start menu, and File Explorer. The traditional search field will be replaced by “Ask Copilot” – supporting both file searches and AI interactions.
Microsoft promises that AI agents will operate with separate accounts, minimal access, and clear activity logs. This helps users check and correct errors if needed.
