In the men's 3-cushion carom event, the Binh Duong player had a rematch with Sameh Sidhom (Egypt) on the evening of July 28. Previously, these two players had faced each other in the group stage, and Phuong Vinh lost 33-40 after 17 rounds.

In the third-place match, Sidhom continued to show his formidable strength. In the first few rounds, the Egyptian player had a series of 10 points to take the lead. The game was then tightly controlled by Sidhom. The player nicknamed "Egyptian prince" continued to have a series of 10 points to bring the match into the break and beat Phuong Vinh by 12 points (28-16). At one point, Sidhom led the Vietnamese player 35-22. However, in the sprint phase, the representative of the Africa & Rest of the world team could not maintain accuracy in many handling situations. On the other hand, Bao Phuong Vinh showed his steadfastness against Sidhom's fast scoring speed. Although he could not overtake him, the player from Binh Duong also pursued him very fiercely. The 2023 World Championship champion did not have big series (the highest series was 5 points), but scored very evenly. In the final stretch, the 1995-born player took advantage of Sidhom's missed shots to break away and win 40-37 after 23 rounds.

Bao Phuong Vinh's Asia A team finished in third place overall at the WCBS Championship 2024. The 29-year-old had a record of 4 wins and 2 losses. In the group stage, Phuong Vinh beat Ryuji Umeda (Asia B team), Javier Vera (Americas team), Ruben Legazpi (Europe B team) and lost to Torbjorn Blomdahl (Europe A team), Sameh Sidhom (Africa & Rest of the world team). Phuong Vinh lost to Ryuji Umeda in the semi-finals, before beating Sidhom in the third-place match.

Meanwhile, Phung Kien Tuong is the only Vietnamese player to participate in the final of the WCBS Championship 2024 billiards tournament. In the women's 3-cushion carom event, Kien Tuong (Asia B team) faced Karina Jetten (Europe B team). The Vietnamese female player won 25-20 against Karina Jetten.

However, Phung Kien Tuong's victory in the women's 3-cushion carom event was not enough to help Asia B team win the title. In 8 matches, Europe B team won 5 victories against Asia B team. Thereby, Europe B team was officially crowned champion at the WBCS Billiards Championship 2024 held in Kielce, Poland.

The 2024 WCBS Billiards Championship (held in Kielce, Poland from July 25 to 28) will feature 48 players competing in four categories: 3-cushion carom (men and women), heyball (men and women), 10-ball pool (men and women) and snooker (men and women). The 48 players will be divided equally into six teams (eight players/team, each team consisting of four men and four women), including: Europe A, Europe B, Asia A, Asia B, Americas and Africa & Rest of the world. The teams will compete in a round robin to score points and be ranked. The top four teams will advance to the semi-finals. The champion team will receive a prize of $44,000, and the runner-up will receive $34,000. The 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th placed teams received $20,000, $16,000, $14,000 and $12,000 respectively.
