Increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities

QTO - On the morning of October 9, the Department of Health coordinated with Medipeace to organize the program "Government-business-disabled people dialogue: Increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities in Quang Tri province".

Quang Tri province currently has 52,119 people with disabilities (PWD), including 12,392 PWD with severe disabilities, 38,801 PWD with severe disabilities and 1,182 PWD with mild disabilities. Behind the physical disabilities are people who always have a burning desire to live, work, integrate and contribute to the community with their own hands and intelligence. Therefore, the dialogue program is a place for the government, businesses and PWD to sit together, listen and share.

At the program, representatives of the Department of Health and a number of relevant agencies and units introduced employment support policies for PWDs; vocational training programs and channels for consuming products made by PWDs; instructions on promoting products on social networking platforms; instructions for businesses on inclusive recruitment processes and building inclusive working environments for PWDs. Representatives of the government, businesses, PWDs and organizations supporting PWDs also discussed job opportunities, recruitment needs, solutions to promote inclusive working environments and support policy mechanisms.
