Along the banks of the Lo River, large areas of land were washed away, creating deep holes. Many sections of the negative slope have collapsed into the riverbed, in some places the erosion has reached the edge of the road, directly threatening traffic safety. According to the Foreign Project Management Board of Tuyen Quang Province - the investor of the road, the landslide stretches for dozens of meters; on the positive slope, a large amount of rock and soil has cracked, with the risk of further landslides if heavy rain continues or if the upcoming storm No. 11 causes impacts.

National Highway 2 is a vital traffic route connecting Hanoi to Ha Giang 1 and Ha Giang 2 wards and the highland communes of Tuyen Quang province. If the landslide continues to spread, traffic on the route will be extremely difficult, with a high risk of traffic accidents. In case of emergency, vehicles can only go around the traffic route along the East bank of Lo River, from Vi Xuyen commune through Linh Ho and Phu Linh to Ha Giang 1 and Ha Giang 2 wards.

On October 4, the Foreign Project Capital Management Board of Tuyen Quang province coordinated with relevant departments and agencies to inspect the scene and assess the extent of the landslide. A representative of the Foreign Project Capital Management Board of Tuyen Quang province said that the initial determination of the main cause was due to prolonged heavy rains causing the ground to be saturated with water, combined with the rising flow of the Lo River causing severe erosion of the negative slope. The unit is urgently completing the dossier and reporting to the Provincial People's Committee to request approval for urgent repair work to ensure traffic safety and prevent this vital route from being further cut off.

Authorities have set up warning and guard posts at the landslide area to provide guidance and ensure the safety of people and vehicles. At the same time, residents and drivers are advised to pay attention and reduce speed when traveling through this road section, especially during heavy rains.
