Implementing social security policies from the beginning of the school year

Students of Son Duong High School are informed about health insurance policy.

In the context of provincial merger, along with the operation of two-level local government, Tuyen Quang Provincial Social Insurance has overcome difficulties, proactively coordinated with the education sector and related units to ensure maintaining the rate of 100% of students participating in health insurance.

Right from the beginning of the new school year, the provincial Social Insurance has coordinated with Tan Trao University, Tuyen Quang Technical and Technology Vocational College and schools in the area to organize propaganda, consultation and answer questions about policies related to health insurance.

Student Vuong Vi Thao Linh, Faculty of Politics and Educational Psychology, Tan Trao University shared: When we heard the propaganda from the Social Insurance agency, we learned that the support level from the State budget for students participating in health insurance was adjusted from August 15. Accordingly, students will be supported with a minimum of 50% of health insurance contributions instead of the previous level of 30%. Thanks to the increased support level, the maximum cost that each student has to pay is only 631,800 VND/year, a decrease of nearly 253,000 VND compared to the old contribution level.

Up to now, the whole province has 404,902 students participating in health insurance, reaching a rate of 100%. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Dung, Head of the Department of Propaganda and Participant Support, Provincial Social Insurance: The Department has developed and implemented a plan to organize propaganda activities, consulting and answering questions about health insurance policies for students in the 2025-2026 school year in many direct and online forms. The propaganda content focuses on the meaning, role, benefits and level of health insurance benefits, especially emphasizing the humanity of the policy. At the same time, students are also instructed to install and use the VssID application - Social Insurance number to monitor the process of participation and card use. Thanks to the propaganda activities being implemented synchronously and closely with the consensus of teachers and parents, in recent years, the health insurance coverage rate for students in the province has been approximately 100% for many school years.

Constantly striving to bring insurance policies into life, in the coming time, the provincial Social Insurance will continue to proactively and flexibly disseminate, advise, and answer questions about health insurance policies for students. At the same time, it will strengthen innovation in content and form suitable for each locality, associated with digital transformation as well as practical requirements in the context of implementing 2-level local government.

Health insurance operates on the principle of risk sharing, healthy people contribute to support those who are unfortunate and sick. Ensuring 100% of students participate in health insurance is not only meaningful in ensuring primary health care for students but also demonstrates a spirit of humanity and a deep sense of responsibility to share with the community.
