On October 12, information from the Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department of Dong Thap Province Police said they were investigating the cause of the fire at Binh Hang Tay market that burned down many kiosks overnight.

At around 1:30 a.m. the same day, people discovered a fire in the middle of Binh Hang Tay market (Binh Hang Trung commune, Dong Thap province) so they shouted for everyone to put out the fire. The place where the fire broke out was the kiosks displaying and selling fabrics, clothes, school supplies, and fruits at the market.

Upon receiving the news, the Cao Lanh Fire Fighting and Rescue Team mobilized many fire trucks and more than 20 officers and soldiers to urgently go to the scene.

Because the area where the fire broke out was a display kiosk selling flammable materials, the fire broke out fiercely. Firefighters divided into many directions, brought in water hoses to approach, sprayed water to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjacent areas.

More than 20 minutes later, the fire was under control. The task force continued to spray water to cool and completely extinguish the fire, preventing it from re-igniting.

Initial statistics show that the fire did not cause any human casualties. The area of ​​the fire was 9 kiosks with an area of ​​about 125 ^m2 of 7 small traders doing business at the market.

Immediately after the incident, the leaders of Binh Hang Trung Commune People's Committee were present in time to direct the Commune Police force to coordinate with the functional forces of the Provincial Police to put out the fire and examine the scene, and at the same time visit and encourage the affected traders.
