According to Notice 9441/TB-BNV, cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, and socio-political organizations will have 5 consecutive days off for the Lunar New Year 2026, from Monday, February 16, 2026 (ie December 29, At Ty year) to Friday, February 20, 2026 (ie January 4, Binh Ngo year).
If you add the two weekends before and after Tet, the total actual vacation time can be up to 9 consecutive days.

Regarding the 2026 National Day holiday schedule, civil servants and public employees will have a day off from September 1 to September 2, 2026 (Tuesday and Wednesday). To ensure the number of working days in a week, Monday, August 31, 2026 will be swapped to Saturday, August 22, 2026. Thus, on the occasion of National Day in 2026, civil servants and public employees will have 3 consecutive days off.
For employees in the enterprise sector, employers have the right to decide on the Tet and National Day holiday plan, but must notify at least 30 days in advance.
Lunar New Year 2026: businesses can choose 1-3 days off at the end of the year of At Ty and 2-4 days at the beginning of the year of Binh Ngo depending on production and business conditions.
National Day 2026: Closed on September 2 (Wednesday) and choose 1 additional adjacent day (September 1 or September 3).
If the weekly day off coincides with a public holiday, the employee will be given compensatory leave in accordance with the provisions of the Labor Code. The Ministry of Home Affairs encourages businesses to apply a similar holiday schedule to that of civil servants or to reach a more favorable agreement for the employee.
