Before the training program, the Press Department announced that Nam A Bank would join the digital transformation of the press in 2023. Mr. Luu Dinh Phuc affirmed that this cooperation will open up long-term development directions between the two units.

At the training program, press agencies were exposed to two topics: Dissemination of the implementation of Decision No. 951/QD-BTTTT and introduction of the set of indicators to assess and measure the maturity level of press digitalization; training and guidance for press agencies to measure and assess the maturity level of press digitalization.

The Press Digital Transformation Support Center is the focal point for building and operating the electronic information portal https://pdt.gov.vn, which is integrated with an online assessment software tool, measuring the maturity level of press digital transformation to serve the assessment and determination of the maturity level of digital transformation of Vietnamese press agencies.

After being trained, press agencies will register and log in to the account provided on the system to self-assess and measure the level of maturity of press digitalization for their press agencies. The assessment and measurement model includes 42 criteria divided into 10 component indicators and grouped into 5 pillars of press digitalization, with a maximum total score of 100 points.

To ensure comprehensiveness and objectivity, the assessment and measurement of the level of maturity of digital transformation of press is assigned by the Ministry of Information and Communications to the Press Department to preside over, coordinate with relevant agencies and experts to review, collect data, compare data, conduct independent appraisal and assessment of the level of maturity of digital transformation of press agencies, based on the results of self-assessment of press agencies.

Based on the assessment results of the expert team, the assessment score of each criterion of the press agency can be adjusted. The assessment and ranking results will be publicly announced annually on the Electronic Information Portal of the Ministry of Information and Communications at https://mic.gov.vn and the Information Portal of the Press Digital Transformation Support Center at https://pdt.gov.vn.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Mr. Luu Dinh Phuc - Director of the Press Department emphasized: The successful experience of newspapers that early adopted digital transformation is to combine content with technology, and to consider readers as the center. Content aims to pursue the truth; technology has no delay; understand where readers are spending their time and respond to it with appropriate and attractive digital product experiences.

Digital technology , organizational model, editorial management, human resource management, revenue diversification, and customer experience are the major issues that newspapers must address when innovating. But it must be emphasized that in industrialization, the leader is still the most important factor.

The establishment of the Press Digital Transformation Support Center (a permanent unit located at the Press Department) will contribute to supporting press agencies in effectively implementing the digital transformation goals stated in the Press Digital Transformation Strategy to 2025, with a vision to 2030.
