The Department of Mothers and Children supervises the work of preventing and fighting drowning in children in Cu Lao Gieng commune.

Dr. Tran Dang Khoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Mothers and Children ( Ministry of Health ) delivered a concluding speech at the meeting.

Cu Lao Gieng Commune organized 16 community communication sessions, educating knowledge and skills for over 3,000 participants; distributed 1,000 leaflets, 16 banners, 4 large propaganda panels in the "Month of Action for Children" and "Green Summer Campaign" of the Youth Union.

In 2024, the People's Committee of My Hiep commune (before the merger) organized 8 swimming classes for 200 children in the area under the Project sponsored by the Campaign for Tobacco - Free Kids (CTFK). In addition, 100% of schools in the area included the content "School safety - drowning prevention" in the flag salute at the beginning of the week...

Concluding the meeting, Dr. Tran Dang Khoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Mothers and Children, requested the Department of Health to advise the Provincial People's Committee to allocate the budget to support local drowning prevention and control work, and at the same time mobilize many social resources for implementation.

Coordinate with departments, branches, and organizations to propagate, train, and foster knowledge and skills for staff working in child protection and care; promote propaganda for people to regularly care for and monitor their children, especially during summer vacations and stormy seasons... to prevent drowning and accidents.
