Agribank spreads the spirit of responsibility to Vietnamese farmers

At the meeting between General Secretary To Lam and 95 outstanding Vietnamese farmers and scientists of farmers held on October 14, Agribank was honored to receive the General Secretary's commendation for its outstanding contributions to the development of "three agriculture" with the role of accompanying and supporting farmers in borrowing capital to develop production.

Contributing to the achievements of Vietnamese agriculture, General Secretary To Lam especially appreciated the role of the Vietnamese peasant class - those who have made miracles in the renovation period, contributing to changing the fate of the country from prolonged hunger to ensuring food security, then moving up to being the world's leading agricultural exporter in many products.

Affirming the "supporting" role of Vietnamese agriculture as well as the important contribution of credit capital to the "three farmers" sector, General Secretary To Lam praised the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) - the largest commercial bank in the country, a support for farmers and the poor, always steadfast in its mission of supporting agriculture, farmers, and rural areas and considering this the top priority sector to focus on credit programs.

General Secretary To Lam also affirmed the noble qualities of farmers when using bank capital: "On the farmers' side, they have used the bank's preferential capital effectively, no one has broken their promise, no one has appropriated bank capital."

Agribank is currently effectively implementing 7 policy credit programs and 3 national target programs on new rural construction, sustainable poverty reduction, and development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas. Particularly for the new rural construction program, from the end of 2011 to now, Agribank has covered the credit network in 100% of communes nationwide. As of June 2025, the total loan turnover of the program reached more than 7.6 million billion VND, Agribank has become a trusted companion of more than 2 million customers in this area.
