In 2025, short films and web-dramas with the theme of "CEO" appeared densely on social networks with various contents. This made the public worried that they could cause negative effects on viewers, especially young people and children.
At the same time, the online community also raised the question of whether or not the appearance of this film genre on social networks should be handled and minimized?
On the afternoon of October 10, at the regular press conference for the third quarter of 2025 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST), Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information - Mr. Le Quang Tu Do expressed his views on this issue.

According to Mr. Tu Do, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism always have a policy of building a safe, useful and healthy cyberspace for people to use.
"If any content affects the ethics, lifestyle, standards... of the people and young people, we will consider and handle it immediately. However, for specific cases like this, a more careful assessment is needed," said Mr. Tu Do.

The leader of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information said that web-dramas and short film content on social networks are reviewed and processed according to Decree 147. However, it is very difficult to determine what constitutes a violation of the law for this type of film.
"We must consider whether the content is negative, conveys incorrect ideas, is revealing, affects children or is superstitious... or not. If so, we will take immediate measures to deal with that content. However, we cannot block and remove the entire "CEO" topic, but must follow the specific content of that web-drama or short film," Mr. Tu Do commented.
Mr. Le Quang Tu Do added that since 2017, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information has had a specialized force to scan, detect, and block illegal content, fake news, bad news, toxic news, false information, and insulting organizations and individuals. The Department does this based on Decree No. 72 of 2013 and Decree No. 147 of 2024 of the Government on Internet management and information content on the network.
"We use both people and technical tools to scan cyberspace, sending requests to cross-border platforms such as Youtube and Facebook to block and remove information, images, clips... within 24 hours," Mr. Tu Do affirmed.
In the past 2 years, the rate of timely removal by the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information has always reached 90% or more. On the occasion of the 14th Party Congress, the unit tightened the content, ensuring faster removal of false news and negative influence within 2 hours.
In addition, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information also launched a campaign to block and remove pages, channels and news on cross-border platforms that only serve to spread fake news.
At the press conference, leaders of the Department of Cinema and the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information also mentioned the incident of the "cow tongue line" appearing in the Chinese TV series "Let Me Shine".
Mr. Le Quang Tu Do confirmed that episode 16 (containing the image of the "cow tongue line") has not been broadcast in Vietnam but has only been released in China. This image was cut out of episode 16 scheduled to be broadcast in Vietnam.
However, the two Departments agreed to remove and not broadcast any works containing the image of the "cow tongue line" even if it was cut out when broadcast in Vietnam.
