On the morning of October 15, the Quang Tri Southern Eye Hospital announced that it had just awarded a nurse from the unit's Examination Department for her timely action in detecting and handling a cardiac arrest situation for a patient's family member.

Previously, at about 8:41 a.m. on October 14, Mr. NTK (72 years old, residing in Dong Ha Ward, Quang Tri) brought his family member to the Examination Department, Quang Tri Southern Eye Hospital for medical examination and treatment. At that time, while waiting in the hospital lobby, Mr. K. suddenly suffered a cardiac arrest and fell to the floor.
While checking in patients, nurse Le Thi Thu Ha discovered an abnormality and quickly activated the emergency alarm procedure. At the same time, she coordinated with medical staff of the Examination Department to perform initial emergency care using cardiopulmonary resuscitation - CPR.
Thanks to the quick reflexes, solid skills and high sense of responsibility of the medical staff, Mr. K. was promptly given emergency care and stabilized before being transferred to the intensive care unit at a general hospital. It is known that Mr. K. had a history of two previous transient strokes.
