Many other localities such as Dam Ha and Quang Tan have also completed rearranging the school system, ensuring it is suitable for the population size and physical facilities.

Mr. Trinh Dinh Hai, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ninh province, said that before the merger, the whole province had 638 educational institutions from kindergarten to university (including 56 private schools), with nearly 400,000 students. Particularly, from kindergarten to junior high school, there were 520 institutions under the management of communes, wards and special zones.

After the merger, the province will reduce about 50% of public educational institutions. Specifically, preschools will reduce by 88 schools, primary schools by 48 schools, and secondary schools by 115 schools. High schools will be reorganized from 36 schools, reducing to 34 schools. The entire continuing education system will also be merged into a common unit.

Mr. Trinh Dinh Hai added that streamlining the school network aims to improve management efficiency, rationally use human resources and facilities, and ensure appropriate class sizes, aiming to build a more synchronous, high-quality and sustainable education system in the new period.
