Specifically as follows: Candidates who are summoned to participate in the national team selection exam for international and regional Olympic competitions, or who win first, second, or third prizes in the national excellent student selection exam in cultural subjects, will be considered for direct admission to the majors corresponding to the subjects they won the prize. Candidates in the national team participating in the international science and technology competition or who win first, second, or third prizes in the national science and technology competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training will be considered for direct admission to the majors corresponding to the field of the topic they registered for the competition.
Admission based on international certificates, including candidates with an average score (GPA) of 8.0 or higher in each year of grades 10, 11, 12; Have at least 1 of the following international certificates: SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP, IB. Admission based on the Competency Profile combined with interviews includes candidates who graduated from high school in 2026, with an average score of 8.0 or higher in each subject in grades 10, 11 and 12 and meet one (01) of the following conditions: Being selected to participate in the National Excellent Student Exam organized by the Ministry of Education and Training or winning First, Second, Third or Encouragement Prizes in the Provincial/City-level Excellent Student Exam organized by the Departments of Education and Training, Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hue University, Hanoi Pedagogical University, Ho Chi Minh City Pedagogical University, Vinh University, Viet Bac Mountainous High School and granting certificates of achievement in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Foreign Languages, and Combinations during high school; Being selected to participate in the National Science and Technology Competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training; Selected to participate in the Road to Olympia contest organized by Vietnam Television from the monthly round and above; Specialized students (including Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Foreign Languages) of high schools and specialized high schools nationwide, specialized classes, specialized programs of universities, national universities, and regional universities.
Regulations on calculating candidates' competency profile scores: Candidates' competency profile scores are calculated as follows (maximum 100 points): HSNL score = Thinking score + Achievement score + Bonus points
In which, thinking score (maximum 40 points): The candidate's thinking score is calculated based on the candidate's Thinking Assessment (TSA) score in 2025 or 2026 and is calculated according to the formula TSA x 40/60.
Achievement score (maximum 50 points): The candidate's achievement score is calculated based on the total score of valid achievements that the candidate has achieved and declared on the system.
Bonus points (maximum 10 points): The candidate's bonus points are calculated for other achievements in study and scientific research that have not been included in the achievement score; Foreign Language Certificate; Awards in culture, arts, physical education and sports (awards in literature - sports - fine arts); Awards for social activities and volunteering for the community that the candidate has validly declared on the system.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology retains the same 11 admission combinations and main subjects as previous years, including: A00, A01, A02, B00, D01, D04, D07, D26, D28, D29 and K01.
Regarding foreign languages, candidates with VSTEP English certificates or international English certificates (registered for authentication on the system) can convert them into English subject scores when considering admission based on high school graduation exam scores (combinations A01, D01, D04, D07) and add bonus points when considering admission based on the XTTN method (areas 1.2, 1.3), and considering admission based on DGTD exam scores.

For candidates applying for admission to international training joint programs including TROY-BA, TROY-IT, FL2 (International Professional English), in addition to the necessary conditions (according to the admission methods), candidates need to have one of the following English proficiency conditions: Have a VSTEP English certificate at level B2 or higher; Have an IELTS certificate (academic) of 5.5 or higher or equivalent. Regarding the 2026 Thinking Assessment exam, it will be an objective multiple-choice test on a computer. The TSA exam is expected to have 3 sessions on Saturdays and Sundays, specifically:
