Grandmaster Le Tuan Minh promises to shine at the KPNest chess tournament

At the Chess Olympiad in Hungary in September, Le Tuan Minh was the most successful Vietnamese player, winning a bronze medal at table 3. The grandmaster from Hanoi played all 11 games, achieving an undefeated record (won 7 games, drew 4 games). The 28-year-old player's performance was very high, equivalent to a player with an elo of 2,795. He defeated many strong players such as Javokhir (Uzbekistan), McShane (England).

In a recent share, Le Tuan Minh said he was very happy and proud of what he had done at the Olympiad, considered the Olympics of chess, where almost all the world's top players gathered. Le Tuan Minh will compete in the open group at the KPNest chess tournament, where he will face off against teammates from the Vietnamese team such as Le Quang Liem, Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, Tran Tuan Minh and other notable faces. "Veteran" coach Lam Minh Chau said: "Le Tuan Minh is a player with the ability to play fast chess and blitz chess very well. He is gradually asserting his position as the top chess player in Vietnam and his chess skills are developing well. Therefore, in my opinion, Le Tuan Minh will be a candidate to compete for the open group championship title at this KPNest chess tournament."

Grandmaster Bui Vinh assessed that if well invested, Le Tuan Minh has the ability to enter the top elo 2,700, which currently only Le Quang Liem in Vietnamese chess has achieved.

The KPNest Gold Cup Chess Tournament promises to be exciting as it attracts most of the Vietnamese players to compete.

The silent hero of the Vietnamese chess team, Le Tuan Minh promises to shine, creating an exciting competition at the KPNest chess tournament.

KPNest Chess Tournament is organized by KPNest Bird's Nest Development Joint Stock Company in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Chess Federation on December 1, 2024 at The Adora Convention Center (431 Hoang Van Thu, Ward 4, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City).

The tournament is divided into 12 groups, including 6 groups for men and 6 groups for women. In each group, players will compete in 15 rounds of scoring according to the Swiss system, 3+2 blitz chess format (3 minutes for each player, plus 2 seconds after each move).

The total prize value is up to nearly 2 billion VND, in which the champion of each group receives 50 million VND, second place 20 million VND, third place 10 million VND.
